The Caloundra Steiner playgroup provides a warm, caring and supportive environment where children are free to play and be themselves.
It is through play that a young child encounters life, learning by doing, building confidence, social skills and strong bodies. Great care is taken to create a protected, yet stimulating play space where children can practice their skills through rhythmic repetition and artistic activities.

Based on the theories and teachings of Rudolf Steiner, emphasis is placed on values such as imagination, kindness, sharing and emotional growth, focusing on the development of the whole child. Through storytelling, craft, puppetry, song, movement, domestic arts and celebration of seasonal changes, children develop an appreciation and reverence for nature.
A supply of natural resources including simple figures, un- detailed toys, coloured silks, wood, sea shells and other natural materials, encourage children’s curiosity, nurtures their senses and inspires imaginative play.

Our aim is to instill a sense of beauty and trust in the natural world that fosters your child’s love for learning.

Each week at playgroup we follow a simple routine with both freedom and gentle structure. Imitative playtime begins each session, accompanied by parent-guided craft, followed by morning tea and circle time.
We provide access to holistic resources, to take home to enrich family life. Song sheets, natural medicine, nutrition tips and simple craft ideas are emailed to parents each term.
Steiner playgroup is a special time, providing an enriching experience for infants, toddlers and preschoolers to share with their careers and parents.
